But Let’s Break it Down…

Invisalign

Invisalign clear aligners have been around for a while now–since 1997. And while they were originally best suited for minor adjustments, they have become even stronger and more efficient over the years–capable of handling anything from overcrowded teeth to an overbite. With the right orthodontist, any dental issue can be managed with Invisalign, even impacted teeth.

Invisalign is designed to fit your lifestyle, not interrupt it.
● Get results faster than traditional braces.
● Aligners are practically invisible and easy to clean.
● You can eat all of your favorite foods–just pop your aligners out and brush your teeth before putting them back in.
● Fewer check-ups and zero emergency-broken-bracket visits.
● No permanent white scars (white spot lesions) on your teeth after your treatment is completed

The Process
Dr. Angeloni will create a custom plan to straighten your smile with 3-D scans (no nasty molds!) and digital mapping technology. Then, you’ll get your custom aligners. You’ll wear these for at least 20 hours a day and change your aligner every 1-2 weeks. And while we love seeing you in-person, you’ll only need to come in for a check-up every 12 weeks or so to check on progress, for a new scan, or pick up your next batch of aligners. An added benefit is that some of these routine aligner checks can be done virtually, from the comfort of your own home, using resources from Invisalign!

Traditional Braces

When you think of straightening your teeth, a mouth full of metal brackets and colorful bands probably comes to mind. Braces have been around for a very long time (the first modern braces were created in 1819) and while the look has changed, the basic principle has stayed the same: metal brackets and wires slowly move your teeth into the desired position. Unlike Invisalign aligners, braces cannot be removed for meals or brushing. Therefore with braces on your teeth the responsibility of maintaining proper oral hygiene is much greater and requires a lot more time and energy.

While you have them, braces are a permanent part of your life.
● Having a mouth full of metal can be painful and uncomfortable.
● It’s difficult to maintain proper oral hygiene and some food groups are totally off-limits.
● Braces require more frequent office visits.
● Sports and other activities put you at risk for broken brackets or wires.

The Process
Dr. Angeloni will develop a custom plan for your smile using x-rays and digital mapping. We’ll bond metal or ceramic brackets on each tooth and connect them using wires and elastics. Once your braces are on, they’re working 24/7 to straighten your teeth. Stay away from chewy, sticky or hard foods and make sure to brush and floss thoroughly after meals to keep your braces clean. We’ll see you in the office every 3-4 weeks for a check-up and adjustment!
